6 Unique New Year’s Resolutions: Part Two
Go Out of Your Comfort Zone
Your comfort zone is your safe place. When you are within your comfort zone, you are confident and happy with the way your life is, but that’s not always the best way to live. Every once in a while it’s good to do something that may make you feel uncomfortable or vulnerable. However, many people try to avoid feeling this way as much as possible. This year, try to do something that takes you out of your comfort zone at least once a month. These don’t have to be big plans like jumping out of a plane, but maybe you’ve always been afraid to eat a meal at a restaurant alone, or try a new food. Give yourself the chance to experience something new. Who knows? You may find that you like it.
Get More Sleep
Sleep is a vital part of your health, but it can be difficult for some people to get the recommended amount of sleep each night. Adults need an average of seven to eight hours of quality sleep each night, but if you work extremely late, or you have too much going on, it can be difficult to cut back on some of your responsibilities and get enough sleep. This year, try to make your sleep and your overall personal health a priority. Drink more water, go to bed early, and eat healthier. When you finally take care of yourself, it makes it easier to tackle your responsibilities.
Make Time for Yourself
In today’s society, it’s more common for people to spread themselves thin and try to get everything done at once. While this may be a good strategy for making money, it’s not always the best strategy for your personal wellbeing. Instead of scheduling a million meetings or activities for others, make sure you schedule some time for yourself. During the week, give yourself an hour to relax without any distractions each night, or even schedule an entire day on the weekend to have someone pamper you. Taking care of yourself is an important task, and it’s better for your mental health, as well as for your productivity levels.
